DeKalb County’s Emergency Management Agency will distribute reusable masks, hand sanitizer and food at a site near Decatur today.

Officials said the event is the first of what will be weekly efforts throughout the month of June.

Today’s distribution will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of the Planet Fitness located at 2460 Wesley Chapel Road.

DEMA will distribute 250 reusable cloth masks made by staff and Community Emergency Response Team volunteers. Hand sanitizer and about 250 boxes of food with produce, chicken and milk will also be handed out.

“This is part of DEMA’s mission to provide temporary relief during the month of June for vulnerable populations in communities that have been significantly impacted by COVID-19,” a press release said.
