An Ellenwood man convicted in the death of his 6-month-old daughter was sentenced to life in DeKalb County on Wednesday.

Reginald Demarcus Johnson, 36, who reportedly first suggested little Jordan's twin might've caused the skull fractures and bleeding on her brain, was found guilty of felony murder in August.

Judge Tangela Barrie handed down the sentence, which will force Johnson to spend 30 years in prison before he can seek parole, the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office said in a news release.

Jordan died of blunt force trauma to the head, although Johnson told first responders that the 6-month-old’s twin brother may have been responsible.

Evidence at trial indicated the amount of force used to injure the child was “equivalent to smashing on a table or other flat surface or an adult stomping the baby’s head,” said Marcus Garner, DA’s spokesman.

Johnson’s attorney, LeeAnne Lynch, has said the defendant maintains his innocence and would continue to fight through the appeals process.
