DeKalb County schools to dismiss early Friday

The DeKalb County School District announced on its Facebook page late Thursday that all schools will dismiss early on Friday due to impending winter weather.

Elementary schools will dismiss at 11 a.m., middle schools will release students at 1:15 p.m. and high school students will be dismissed at 12:15 p.m.

According to the Facebook post, after-school activities for both Friday and Saturday are canceled.

SAT tests scheduled for Saturday have also been canceled due to the impending inclement weather, the district  said in a statement.

The decision to dismiss students early comes after the state of emergency issued by Gov. Nathan Deal to close state offices early due to inclement weather conditions.
