DeKalb County Commissioner Sharon Barnes Sutton is urging residents to wear teal on Tuesday, Sept. 27 to show their awareness of the battle against ovarian cancer.

Sutton is also hosting the Overcome Ovarian Cancer 3K walk on Oct. 1 at DeKalb Technical College on North Indian Creek Road, Clarkston.

Registration for the race is $35. Proceeds benefit the Georgia Ovarian Cancer Alliance for promotion of early detection of the disease that kills more than 15,000 women every year.
