DeKalb County Commissioners are waiting for the CEO to return to work before questioning Public Safety Director William “Wiz” Miller about not coming into his office for 82 days last year.

Miller briefly attended a commission retreat on Thursday, but did not say anything. Commissioner Elaine Boyer said they declined to speak with him because he is not  supposed to be on the payroll any more. The commission voted to abolish the $150,000 a year job, but CEO Burrell Ellis has taken no action.

Ellis, who is home recovering from surgery, has said the commission does not have the authority to make personnel decisions.
