Starting Monday , DeKalb County is changing the hours for walk-in customers to the building services division of the county planning department.

The offices, at 330 W. Ponce de Leon Ave. in downtown Decatur, will have window hours between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays.

Those are the same hours for walk-in service for the county’s land development divisions. Officials hope the change, which reduces the afternoon hours, will allow staff to spend more time on customer service and complete requests as they come in.
