DeKalb County Chief Executive Burrell Ellis recently took over as president of a national professional group.

Ellis was installed Sunday as head of the County Executives of America, which represents about 700 counties nationwide that operate under an executive form of government.

DeKalb is the only metro Atlanta county that runs under the CEO structure and has been the target of resident complaints for years.
