DeKalb cancels trash pickup Thursday. Here’s the new schedule.

Authorities say many places where snow and ice melted, but did not dry off, are likely to refreeze tonight.

Due to bad road conditions, the DeKalb County Sanitation Division has suspended all collections for Thursday.

Collection for residential and commercial customers, transfer station operations, landfill operations and administrative services will resume on Friday, the county said.

Customers whose regularly scheduled collection days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will receive garbage and recycling collection service on Friday and Saturday, thanks to an extended work schedule on both days. Yard trimmings for these customers will not be collected until next week as normal schedules resume.

Residents should place garbage and recycling containers curbside by 7 a.m. on Friday and return them back to the curbside by 7 a.m. on Saturday if they weren’t emptied Friday.
