Four of nine DeKalb school board members are supporting San Antonio Superintendent Robert Durón for the top job. An e-mail sent from Nancy Jester, Don McChesney, Pam Speaks and Paul Womack said Durón was their No. 1 choice from the beginning. His candidacy was leaked to the press last week, the second confidentiality breech in the district's troubled search. Board members wrote that the leak may have damaged Durón and "has made DeKalb radioactive to potential candidates." No official candidates have been named since three finalists withdrew in April.
