DeKalb areas vie for new community initiative

Seven DeKalb County areas are in the running for a new community initiative focused on quality of life issues.

The DeKalb Sustainable Neighborhood effort partners the county with Emory University to find collaborative projects to engage resident and improve neighborhoods.

Areas being considered for the program, based on high school districts, are Clarkston, Columbia, Cross Keys, Lithonia, McNair, Stone Mountain and Towers.
