The DeKalb County Board of Commissioners recently agreed to spend about $475,000 on a pay and classification survey that is expected to recommend trimming staff and boosting salaries for remaining workers.

The Archer Company is slated to begin the study in November and take a year to 18 months to make its recommendations.
