The decomposing body of a man was found Saturday in a Gwinnett County lake, police said.

Police responded after a resident called 911 from the Durant at Sugarloaf Apartments on St. Marlowe Drive in Lawrenceville, Gwinnett County police said in a news release.

Investigators determined the body is an adult man, but have not yet determined race or other characteristics, police said. There are no signs of obvious trauma or foul play, police said.

The period of time the body had been in the water is still unknown.

Witnesses told Channel 2 Action News someone saw the body earlier, but no one reported the sighting to police until Saturday.
