Decatur city commissioners recently approved seven streets for milling, patching, repairing and resurfacing in 2017. The priority list is chosen from resident inquiries and complaints along with the “Road Surface Management Pavement Condition Evaluations System.”

The streets: Eastland Drive (from Willow Lane to city limits), Pensdale Road (same), Kathryn Avenue (Coventry Road to Mockingbird Lane), Bucher Drive (South Candler Street to Avery Street), Jefferson Place (East College Avenue to Ansley Street) and a brief stretch of McKoy Street (East Benson Street till it dead ends). Total length is one mile.

Cost is $485,000 with $168,331 of that coming from a Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant. Work will commence sometime next fall.
