A zoning modification request for a 12.26-acre site on Decatur Road was approved by the McDonough City Council at its March 18 regular meeting.

The applicant asked for a change in the R-50 zoning to allow for conservation-type development, according to a city staff report, reducing the number of lots from 33 to 19 and “utilizng the city’s Green Infrastructure/Low Impact Development standards with respect to the city’s efforts to enhance and protect the economic sustainability of the Hwy. 155 North corridor.”

No one spoke in favor or in opposition to the proposal. All six council members present voted in favor.
