Decatur’s commission approved spending $11,250 to resurface the five tennis courts at Glenlake Park. Most of the work involves re-painting, but there will also be some seam repairs on the carpet-like surface.

The courts date to the 1960s but were rebuilt five years ago when the park was thoroughly renovated. The carpet, which covers an asphalt base and prevents cracks from reflecting through, has a 25-year warranty.

Deputy City Manager Hugh Saxon said the work will only take a week but probably won’t start until early May.
