Decatur holds its first Trees 101 workshop, 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m., March 12 at the Decatur Public Works Building, 2635 Tally Street. Landscape Infrastructure Coordinator India Woodson is limiting the class to 20, though she hopes eventually to hold it every three or four months.

“We’ll talk about how a homeowner makes informed decisions on better taking care of a tree,” Woodson said, “and how to decide if a tree should be taken down.”

The free workshop is an outgrowth of Decatur’s new tree ordinance passed last May. To sign up email Woodson at India.Woodson@decaturga.com with your name, address and contact information.
