Gov. Nathan Deal on Friday named Tricia Pridemore to the Georgia World Congress Authority and his chief of staff's father to the Lake Lanier Island Development Authority.
The 33 appointments Deal announced included former Senate Majority Leader Eric Johnson, R-Savannah, and former state Rep. Clay Cox, R-Lilburn. Johnson will serve on the Board of Economic Development, and Cox was named to the Board of Community Health.
Pridemore was a top supporter of Deal's 2010 campaign for governor and was his choice to be state Republican Party chairwoman. Pridemore, who also led Deal's inaugural committee, lost to incumbent party Chairwoman Sue Everhart at the GOP convention in May.
Pridemore, a Marietta businesswoman with a background in technology companies, serves on the WellStar Hospitals Foundation Board.
Richard W. Riley of Gainesville is the father of Deal's chief of staff, Chris Riley. Richard Riley, a retired executive vice president of the advertising firm Sawyer Riley Compton, will serve on the Lake Lanier oversight board.
