Students have until Wednesday to participate in an art contest to promote awareness of the new city of Brookhaven.

Children in the Brookhaven’s 10 schools can participate, with school leaders selecting winners by Tuesday10/23.

Students from Brookhaven who attend schools outside the new city can also enter artwork in an open category, submitting it directly to the governor’s commission.

Finalists will be submitted to the public before the Nov. 6 vote and will be displayed in commission offices until a city hall is selected.

The elected mayor and council will select the winner and any logos it may use for the city.
