A Caribbean restaurant employee was fatally shot late Friday in Jonesboro and police are searching for three gunmen.

The gunmen entered the Berris & Norma Caribbean restaurant on Tara Boulevard around 11 p.m. and wandered to the back where employees were working, witnesses told Channel 2 Action News.

Moments later, shots rang out and when the gunfire ended,employee David Harris, 38, was dead. Harris was identified as the son of the restaurant’s owner. Another employee ran for cover, according to Jonesboro Police Chief Franklin Allen.

Police say the men, who witnesses assumed were customers until the shooting began, then fled in an older model vehicle. A sketch of one of the suspects was released.
