2 dead after head-on collision in Carroll County

Authorities were investigating a double fatal collision just over the county line in Carroll County Thursday evening.

The crash happened when a silver Nissan Altima traveling west on Ga. 166 crossed the centerline and struck a black Nissan Maxima, Georgia Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Tracy Watson said.

Both drivers died at the scene and a passenger in the Maxima was flown to a local hospital.
