The owner of a Jonesboro daycare and her daughter were convicted in the death of a 2-year-old who was left in a closed van for about three hours on a sweltering June afternoon.

The owner of Marlo’s Magnificent Learning Center, Marlo Maria Fallings, was acquitted of murder but found guilty of reckless conduct. Her daughter, Quantabia Shantell Hopkins, was also acquitted of murder but found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and reckless conduct.

After the jury had left the courtroom, both women collapsed. Fallings was on the floor of the courtroom for a few minutes and Hopkins was carried out.
