Dam Road, Lanier park areas to close temporarily

Attention commuters and Lake Lanier vacationers: Buford Dam Road and park areas with entrances inside the general work area at the south end of the lake are scheduled to be closed for road maintenance Tuesday, June 18, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced.

The road will be closed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., as will the Lower Overlook, Lower Pool West, Lower Pool East, West Bank Turnout and West Bank parks, the Army Corps said. The Lake Lanier Project Management Office and Visitor Center will remain open to the public.
