Dacula Judge William Brogdon recently swore in Judge Deborah Fluker as an Associate Judge for Dacula Municipal Court. She will serve as part-time municipal judge and preside in the event of Judge Brogdon’s absence.

Judge Fluker is currently a full-time Magistrate Judge in Gwinnett. The Gwinnett Magistrate Court’s jurisdiction includes civil claims of $15,000 or less, county ordinance violations, applications for and issuance of arrest and search warrants, preliminary hearings, landlord versus tenant disputes, and distress warrants. No jury trials are held in this court. Appeals from decisions in landlord, tenant and civil cases are made to the Superior and State courts.

The Municipal Court of Dacula hears and adjudicates traffic offenses and violations of city ordinances that occur within city limits. Municipal Court is typically held at 5:00 p.m. once a month on the third Tuesday.
