Dacula mayor, councilman to retain seats

Dacula Mayor Jimmy Wilbanks and Council Member Wendell Holcombe will have no need to campaign this fall. Both candidates qualified for the November municipal election unopposed and will be automatically elected to serve new four-year terms.

Incumbent candidate Donna Barber Peairs will face Daniel R. Spain for the at-large council seat set to expire this year.

Advance voting will take place 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 16 through Nov. 3 at Dacula City Hall, 442 Harbins Road. Request an application for an absentee ballot by calling 770-963-7451. Polls will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 7 at the same location.
