Official logo designs and a Buy-A-Brick fund-raising program have been announced for the Cumming City Center project.

The city worked with Beeferman Design to create a logo design “that harkens back to a simpler time, but also just looks really sharp and cool,” said Mayor Troy Brumbalow. There will be a formal, official logo for use on signage, murals, letterhead and business cards, and a “merchandise logo” for promotional items like T-shirts.

Residents will be able to participate in the project by buying individually engraved, 4-by-8-inch walkway bricks for $50 per brick.

City Center will cover 75 acres west of downtown between Canton Highway (Ga. 20) and Sawnee Drive. Intended to evoke a “Main Street Americana” feel, the project will have about 117,000 square feet of retailing, a new police and municipal court building, an amphitheater, pocket parks, fountains, miniature golf course and a lake, trail and boardwalk system.

Construction is to begin later this summer, with an opening in the fall of 2021. Information: https://bit.ly/2AhRuZm
