The Georgia Chapter of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America will hold its 21st Annual torch Gala at 7 p.m. Jan. 28 at the InterContinental Buckhead hotel.

The dinner dance and silent auction is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the chapter. The foundation's goal is to raise money to help cure and prevent  Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis  through research and to improve the qualify of life for people who suffer from the digestive diseases.

To date, the event has has raised more than $5.1 million.

Atlanta residents Ann and Jay Davis and their son, Richard, are the 2012 Torch Gala Citizens of the Year.
