Bottled no more

An Austell man has been in jail more than a week after he allegedly exposed himself at a gas station in Kennesaw.

The man bought a bottle of water about 11 a.m. on June 3 from a Citgo on Cobb Parkway, according to a police warrant.

While at the counter, he pulled out his genitals and put them on the counter in front of the clerk. It was recorded on video, the warrant said.

His unpaid bond was $2,500 for the misdemeanor public indecency charge, jail records showed Tuesday.

Headloca

What police described as a domestic situation ended with a Mableton man putting a woman in a headlock outside a taco joint June 2.

Two drivers saw the man yelling at the woman and slapping a phone out of her hand, according to a warrant. The warrant did not describe their connection.

When both the drivers came back, they saw him putting her in a headlock and dragging her across the parking lot of Taco Prado. This was at noon on a Saturday.

He bonded out the next day for $1,870 on two misdemeanor charges of simple battery and telling the officer the wrong birthday during questioning, jail records show.

Hot pot pursuit

An Austell man who had just sold marijuana to a cop led police on a chase that ended with his car hitting a tree.

The man’s mugshot from May 30 shows a bandage on one side of his face but no visible injuries.

He sold the cop just under 26 grams of marijuana for $250, according to the warrant.

An officer tried to pull him over, but the man jumped a curb on Floyd Road near Veteran’s Memorial Highway and drove the wrong way on Veteran’s Memorial, the warrant said. It was “raining heavily” at the time.

At one point, the man’s speed reached 110 mph, cops said. As he got closer to Dodgen Road, he lost control of his vehicle and spun into a tree, the warrant said. The vehicle lost a tire and stopped inches from a building on Veteran’s Memorial near Harding Drive.

Jail records show he bonded out of jail the next day for $16,720 on felony charges of selling marijuana, fleeing police and using a phone to make a drug deal.

BANG! Whoops!

A Marietta man is accused of slipping and accidentally firing his pistol while drunk.

About midnight on June 6, he got to his apartment complex in the 800 block of South Cobb Drive.

The man told the cops he thinks he was outside of his truck with “his gun in his hand when he slipped and accidentally and pulled the trigger,” according to the warrant.

He said he thought the gun was pointing down toward the ground of the apartment parking lot. Cops found a shell casing nearby but no bullet hole.

Someone called police after hearing the gunshot. The man had a “strong odor of an alcoholic beverage” and told cops he’d been drinking, the warrant said.

Records show he bonded out of Cobb jail about eight hours later for $2,240 on his misdemeanor charges of reckless conduct and firing a weapon while drunk.
