Authorities are investigating three crashes that temporarily caused heavy delays on southbound I-75 in Cobb County.

The crashes began with a three-car pileup about 6 a.m. Tuesday north of the North Marietta Parkway exit ramp, Marietta police spokesman Officer Jared Rakestraw said.

Two more wrecks along the same stretch of interstate followed that incident. There were no serious injuries in any of the crashes, Rakestraw said.

Delays at one point stretched back before Wade Green Road, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.

The crash scenes have since cleared.
