A 57-year-old man died early Saturday morning after a police officer crashed into a minivan as it was making a left turn in south Atlanta.

The man, Aaron Brown Sr., was sitting in the front passenger seat of a Mercury Villager during the accident along Cleveland Avenue, said Officer Kim Jones, a spokeswoman for Atlanta police.

The driver and a rear-seat passenger suffered moderate injuries, and the officer sustained minor injuries, she said.

Police will investigate whether alcohol or speed were factors in the collision, she said. Police did not identify the officer involved or answer questions about what will happen to the officer.
