DeKalb County will hold a public meeting to discuss the sanitation service change proposed for county residents 6:30-7:30 p.m. Feb. 9 at Scott Candler Library, 1917 Candler Road, Decatur.

Commissioner Kathie Gannon and Interim CEO Lee May will lead the discussion, set to be heard for a vote at an upcoming Board of Commissioners meeting.

Proposed initiative: residential customers will not see a rate increase; standardized county-provided 65-gallon containers; one-day-a-week waste collection; consolidated of all waste (solid waste, recycling, and yard trimmings) to be collected on the same day; renewed focus on recycling.
