Council recommends new judgeships for Clayton, Forsyth

The Judicial Council of Georgia is recommending that six new Superior Court judgeships, including one each in Clayton and Forsyth counties, be approved in next year's legislative session.

The council met Friday in Atlanta and, after reviewing case load information, recommended the creation of these new positions in the following order of priority: Bell-Forsyth Circuit, Piedmont Circuit, Middle Circuit, Oconee Circuit, Western Circuit and Clayton Circuit. The recommendations are being sent to the governor and the General Assembly for the 2012 session.
