A 48-year-old woman admitted to her boss that she stole $131,000 from the company to pay her bills, Kennesaw police said Tuesday.
Tracy Lorene Pratt is accused of writing phony loans and using the money to pay her personal bills while working for Just Cash on North Cobb Parkway, Officer Scott Luther said.
Pratt allegedly used fictitious names and VIN numbers to create fraudulent accounts and then made loans, which she in turn kept, according to her arrest warrant, obtained by the AJC. The alleged thefts occurred between February 2010 and June, according to police.
Pratt, previously of Canton and now of Tiger, allegedly apologized to the business owner and co-workers and asked for their forgiveness, the warrant states.
Pratt turned herself in Saturday afternoon at the Cobb County jail, where she remained Tuesday evening without bond, according to booking records. She faces a felony theft by deception charge.
