A 75-year-old Cobb County woman was arrested for allegedly hitting her husband with her walker.

Vara Nelson, of Smyrna, was arguing with her 85-year-old husband about keys to a vehicle when she threatened to hit him Saturday afternoon, according to an arrest warrant obtained by the AJC.

Nelson's husband sat down in a chair and his wife struck him with her walker, causing the man to sustain a laceration to his left forearm and several bruises to his arms and hands, Smyrna police said.

Nelson was charged with one count of simple battery, the warrant states. She was booked into jail and later released on her own recognizance, police said.
