A Hall County woman is accused of choking another woman in front of three children Friday, officials said.

Sherelle Kierra Gaddy, 26, of Gainesville, who is charged with aggravated assault, allegedly pulled a telephone cord out of a wall so the woman couldn’t call for help, Hall County sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Scott Ware said. Gaddy was charged with obstruction of an emergency call for that alleged action.

The alleged attack happened in front of children ages 8, 6 and 4, leading to three counts of child cruelty, Ware said. Authorities did not say if Gaddy was related to the children.

Gaddy was already out on bond for battery charges stemming from Oct. 31, when she allegedly struck a woman over the head with a coat rack, Ware said.

She lied to responding police Friday about her name and date of birth, and was charged with giving officers false information, Ware said.

Gaddy is being held without bond on the aggravated assault and obstruction charges in the Hall County jail.
