Vandals spray painted Swastika inside Acworth church

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of vandalism, including a spray-painted swastika and a negative reference to Jesus, inside a church.

Deputies were dispatched Monday morning to a call of vandalism at Faith Family Church at 5744 Bells Ferry Road in Acworth.

They arrived to find someone broke into the church, took an undisclosed amount of money and left a trail of damage inside the building, the department said.

Jay Baker, spokesman with the sheriff’s office, said the perpetrators also broke several windows, toppled over furniture and broke light fixtures.

According to photos shared by the sheriff’s office, one person spray painted other obscenities about Jesus and “Ghost Face” inside the building. Another photo shows a Swastika spray-painted beside a phrase beginning with the word “Hail.”

Baker said sheriff’s office investigators are following up on leads, but have not identified any suspects in the case.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or 770-928-0239.
