Instead of going Black Friday shopping, someone in north Fulton County decided to swipe tires and rims from a new car.

Police in Sandy Springs are searching for a suspect who stole four tires and rims off a 2017 Toyota Corolla LE parked along the 8000 block of Roswell Road.

After owners of the car discovered the theft, they made a call to police, who arrived on the scene around 5 a.m. The owners told police that the incident occurred sometime between 10 p.m. on Thanksgiving and 5 a.m. Friday morning.

A police report says there were no finger prints on the vehicle and there were no security cameras in the area. The car was a light blue color. The victim’s said the tires stolen were from the Toyota factory.

In Georgia, theft is a felony when it is the theft of property that is valued at more than $500, or —in this case — theft of a motor vehicle or part of a motor vehicle that is valued over $100.

Anyone with information about this crime can submit a tip on Sandy Springs police Facebook page or by calling 770-551-6900.
