What started with an allegedly shoplifted phone ended in a brief police standoff in Duluth on Tuesday night, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Employees at the Walmart on Pleasant Hill Road tried to stop 21-year-old Anthony Robinson from stealing a phone case from the store, according to police. Robinson then pulled out a gun, pointed it in the air and repeatedly shouted “bang, bang!” before fleeing the scene, Channel 2 reported.

Despite Robinson not firing any actual shots, the incident was reported to police as “shots fired.” Officers stopped Robinson in a car not far from the store and found a gun in his trunk, Channel 2 reported.

Robinson was charged with reckless conduct and shoplifting. He was transported to the Gwinnett County Detention Center and released on $1,300 bond a day later.
