The Cobb County Police Department is investigating an apparent hit-and-run reported last week near a baseball park in Marietta.

Cobb police spokesman Sgt. Wayne Delk said the “at-fault” driver of the SUV was trying to exit Oregon Park and travel northbound on Old Hamilton Road when it collided with a motorcyclist that was traveling southbound.

Delk said the SUV left the scene of the collision without stopping. The crash is under investigation, and anyone with information can call 770-499-3987. Police ask that you reference case number 19077633 when calling with details.

The Oregon Park Baseball Association, which shared information about the crash on its Facebook page, said the motorcyclist had to be hospitalized with “significant injuries.”

“Please let this serve as a reminder to drive slowly and carefully while at Oregon Park,” it said on its Facebook page. “It is a busy place and we must be diligent.”
