Gwinnett County detectives are searching for a man who robbed a Peachtree Corners Popeye’s at gunpoint.

The suspect walked into the restaurant before 10 p.m. Feb. 18, pointed a gun at employees and demanded money, police said. The suspect told employees to get in the back of the restaurant and “shut up.”

After the employees gave the suspect $400, he grabbed one female employee by the wrist, saying “Come on, grandma, I’m not going to hurt you,” and demanding to know where the keys to the store’s safe were, according to a police report. The woman said she was a new employee and didn’t know where the keys were, the report said. The suspect then fled the restaurant on foot.

The suspect is described as a 6-foot-tall man weighing between 160 and 175 pounds. He wore a camouflage bandanna around his face and a blue hoodie with a “distinctive white emblem.”

Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact Gwinnett County detectives at 770-513-5300 or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477. Crime Stoppers tips may be rewarded with up to $2,000 if they lead to an arrest or indictment.
