An alarm at Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q went off just after 4 a.m. Wednesday. Officers arrived to 1238 Dekalb Ave. and found the safe missing from the office.

Shortly after, someone called police and said men were trying to break into their vehicle on Haygood Avenue. Police arrived and saw males running away; they were not apprehended.

However, a gray safe with a Fox Bros. sticker was lying on the ground near a car. The locked safe, weighing up to 300 pounds, contained $9,383.
