A Cobb County mother spent several hours in jail after allegedly leaving her toddler alone for 40 minutes while she was in a Wal-Mart store, police said.

Michaela Lucuanna Clark, 36, of Marietta was arrested at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Wal-Mart on Chastain Meadows Parkway near Town Center Mall, according to an arrest warrant obtained by the AJC.

Clark was charged with contributing to the deprivation of a minor, a misdemeanor, after allegedly leaving her 2-year-old son inside her unlocked Hyundai, which was running, the warrant states.

Clark was booked into the Cobb County Jail after her arrest, booking records show. She was released shortly before 7 p.m. Wednesday after posting $1,000 bond.
