A MARTA bus driver had to call police on Monday after a passenger told the driver that he wanted to turn himself in, police said.

Alpharetta police arrived at the MARTA park-and-ride on Dryden Road around 9:45 a.m. and arrested Joshua Reece Wilson Keravuori, 19, of Silver Spring, Maryland, who had a warrant for his arrest in Cocoa, Florida.

Cocoa police had identified Keravuori as the suspect in the homicide of a 65-year-old man earlier this month. A nationwide manhunt ensued and the case was featured on an episode of A&E's "Live PD" show.

The report from Alpharetta police noted that Keravuori was carrying a large bag of personal items that included an Estwing brand sportsman’s hatchet, four paring knives and $1.91 in cash.

Keravuori is being held on a warrant for grand theft auto, and murder charges are pending, Cocoa police said.

The investigation began when police discovered the body of Terry Hilliard — of Ocala, Florida — in a room at the Dixie Motel on Feb. 7 in Cocoa. Later that day, police found Hilliard’s car in Hialeah, Florida. Police said Keravuori stole it and escaped in it.

Kervuori was seen checking into a Cocoa, Florida motel with Hilliard on Feb. 6, police said, acording to FloridaToday.com. A detective with the Cocoa Police Department, Ron McCarron, told the news site that Keravuori was hitchhiking across the country and Hilliard picked him up.

FloridaToday.com reported that Hilliard was traveling to Brevard County to watch a rocket launch at SpaceX.
