Gwinnett County police are searching for a man they believe broke into gym lockers, stole credit cards and bought thousands of dollars on gift cards.

The thefts occurred at two different Lawrenceville gyms on June 18. The suspect went to the LA Fitness at 1860 Duluth Highway and the Gold’s Gym on 860 Duluth Highway and signed in with the pseudonym “Shawn Pitt” and a fake phone number, police said.

Once inside, the suspect went to the locker rooms. He was able to “defeat” combination locks and open the lockers, taking victims’ credit cards, police said.

The suspect used the stolen cards to buy “thousands of dollars’ worth of gift cards.” The gift cards were later used in North Carolina, where police believe the suspect may live or otherwise have ties.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact Gwinnett County detectives at 770-513-5300 or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477. Crime Stoppers tips may be rewarded with up to $2,000 if they lead to an arrest or indictment.
