Marcus Alan McKenzie is accused of exposing himself inside a women's clothing store at Cumberland Mall, Cobb police said.

A South Carolina man has been charged with public indecency after he was allegedly caught exposing himself last week inside a clothing store at Cumberland Mall.

Marcus Alan McKenzie, 26, was arrested Friday, Feb. 22 by Cobb police after he was seen fondling himself inside a women’s fashion store at the mall, according to an arrest warrant.

McKenzie is accused of exposing his private parts and touching himself in front of others inside the store. Cobb police spokesperson Neil Penirelli said McKenzie was located and arrested inside the store.

The warrant also indicates this wasn’t the Aiken, South Carolina, resident’s first charge of this nature. Cobb police say McKenzie was convicted of the same charge in Richmond County on June 21, 2010, July 1, 2013 and Jan. 27, 2012.

McKenzie was booked into the Cobb County Jail Feb. 22 and remains held without bond.

This arrest occurred about a month after police were called to the Smyrna Public Library to take a report of a man accused of exposing himself while standing between book shelves on the second floor.

A witness told police she was sitting at a table when she saw the man expose himself. Smyrna police are still looking for the man, who drives a green Subaru Forester station wagon.

Anyone who knows the man’s identity is asked to contact Smyrna detectives at 770-434-6666.
