Gwinnett County police are searching for at least one suspect after a woman was carjacked off Interstate 85 in Duluth.

The victim was driving on the highway before 2 a.m. on April 28. As she took the exit onto Duluth Highway, a black pickup truck rear-ended her Honda Accord. The truck driver exited his vehicle, approached the victim and held a gun to her head, police said.

The man demanded the woman exit her vehicle. He threw the victim’s purse out of the car and drove off; the black truck followed, with an unidentified person behind the wheel.

The suspect was described as middle-aged, over 6 feet tall with a short, dark brown beard. He was wearing all black and a baseball cap, according to police. The truck may have been a Ford F-150 and the Honda Accord was black with a Georgia license plate reading “RDN 8622.”

Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact Gwinnett County detectives at 770-513-5300 or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477. Crime Stoppers tips may be rewarded with up to $2,000 if they lead to an arrest or indictment.
