Four people were injured early Sunday after a driver stopped in the road while arguing with a passenger, Marietta police said.

According to the initial investigation, a 23-year-old female driver of a red Dodge Durango was traveling northbound when she stopped on Cobb Parkway near Field Parkway while arguing with her 25-year-old male passenger around 4 a.m., police said.

The Durango was hit in the back by a silver Lexus ES350 going northbound in the same lane, authorities said.

The two people in the Durango were transported to Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition, police said.

The Lexus occupants -- a 27-year-old driver and a 25-year-old passenger -- were taken to Kennestone Hospital in good condition, police said.

The incident is under investigation and charges are pending, authorities said.
