Raul Arrue-Valle has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault, Gwinnett County police announced Friday morning. Police said he attacked a woman with a knife after she gave him a ride.
The woman picked him up at 4:30 a.m. on June 18 when he asked for a ride at a QuikTrip on Beaver Ruin Road in Norcross. That QuikTrip station is the same location where a car was stolen in April and later found set on fire in Suwanee.

Arrue-Valle claimed to be unfamiliar with the area and said he needed a ride to a home in Duluth, police said. The woman agreed to give him a ride and he gave her directions as she drove.
When the woman approached the intersection of Green Street and Eagle Terrace in unincorporated Duluth, Arrue-Valle turned off her ignition, took out a knife and lunged at her, cutting her hand, according to police. The woman screamed and called for help, and Arrue-Valle ran out of the car, leaving behind his cell phone, police said.
The woman told police she believed Arrue-Valle intended to rape her. He is now being held without bond at the Gwinnett County Detention Center.
