A man was shot in Cartersville on Tuesday afternoon when he went to a home to confront someone about taking his daughter to buy drugs, according to police.

At some point, Tony Collum, 44, got into a fight with the homeowner, Mark Alan Harris, 53. During the fight, Harris allegedly shot Collum three times at close range with a .32-caliber handgun, police said.

Harris was on the scene when police arrived and has been taken into custody. Two other people were detained for questioning.

Collum was airlifted to Kennestone Hospital, where his condition was not readily available, police said.
