In recent weeks, a string of burglaries sharing a common trait have been reported in the East Atlanta area of unincorporated DeKalb County and in the city of Atlanta.

They all happened in the middle of the night, whereas many burglaries happen in the day when people are presumed away at work. In DeKalb, between Aug. 1 and Monday, the South county police precinct, which covers the area in question, got calls about 15 residential burglaries between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.

The agency released video of suspects trying to force their way into a home on Grandview Circle off 2nd Avenue.

“It is unknown if these subjects are related (to the other burglaries) due to the fact this is the best video we have on any of the incidents,” DeKalb police spokeswoman Shiera Campbell said, “but it does fit into the M.O.”

Anyone with information can contact police at 404-286-7990.
