A local mixed-use development firm has constructed a new path in the Old Fourth Ward providing pedestrians one more way to quickly get to the Atlanta Beltline.
Perennial Properties has funded public path access and art for areas of the Beltline near its apartment complexes. The new path is located near the Highland Walk Apartments.
Perennial, which is co-owned by Tim Schrager and Aaron Goldman and employs more than 60 Atlanta employees, will unveil the new 200-foot path and stairway Saturday during a four-hour party starting at noon.

The path includes a mirrored sculpture by Dana Haugaard and ramp with runnels along the rails so bikes can be wheeled up and down the stairs. The entrance to the path, which is now open, is just east of Highland Walk at Alaska and Highland avenues.
The ribbon cutting will include yoga demonstrations from Infinity Yoga and food and beverage trucks including Mixedup Burger, Buena Gente, Cocktail Truck, Queen of Cream and Alcohol Hero.
There will also be giveaways from companies such as Pup Walkr and Bai water, and a prize wheel with rewards that include dinners at Cast Iron or Barcelona, a wine tasting for two at Vino Teca and food truck drink and food vouchers.

Guests will also receive a discount card to restaurants offering a price cut after the event, including The Brasserie & Neighborhood Café at Parish, Cast Iron, Lady Bird, Amara and Hampton and Hudson.
In addition to its access paths, Perennial Properties has also put volunteer work into cleaning up the Beltline and Old Fourth Ward Park, and sponsors the “Walk.Run.Go” Beltline series, according to a spokeswoman. The company has also worked on the Inman Park corridor near its 755 North, Telephone Factory Lofts and N. Highland Steel properties.
